The Employee Assistance Program or EAP is a program that was established to give Federal civilian employees the necessary resources to cope with life's difficulties. The services are confidential and free to U.S. EPA employees.

Personal problems can affect the lives of employees both at home and at work. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Federal Occupational Health (FOH) manages the EAP, covering more than 600,000 federal workers each year.

FOH's licensed, certified counselors have Masters or Doctorate degrees and extensive post-graduate experience. The EAP provided by FOH is a comprehensive program that helps employees resolve personal problems that may adversely impact their work performance, conduct, health and well-being. FOH's EAP addresses problems in the quickest, least restrictive, and most convenient manner while minimizing cost and protecting client confidentiality.
