Employee Rights Overview PDF Print E-mail

Please remember that Federal civilian employees have a number of rights including the following:

  1. Brookhaven Rights
  2. Douglas Factors
  3. Garrity Rights
  4. Loudermill Rights
  5. The Privacy Act of 1974
  6. Weingarten Rights

As an AFGE bargaining unit employee working at the U.S. Environmental Protection Ageny, you have additional rights guaranteed in the Master Collective Bargaining Agreement ("MCBA" or "contract").  In addition, you may also benefit from a number of Local Supplemental Agreements, Memoranda of Agreement, and Memoranda of Understanding.

It is to your advantage to be familiar with those rights and even more importantly to stand in solidarity with your Union sisters and brothers in striving for a better work environment at the U.S. EPA, as well as ensuring that the Agency carries out its mission to protect human health and the environment.

Please read the MCBA, as well as this collection of rights placed here on the AFGE Council 238 website for your benefit.

If you have any questions, please contact the AFGE Local President at your location.
